Formed by the violinist Ferdinando Trematore, the cellist Jos\u00e9 Miguel G\u00f3mez and the pianist Juan Carlos Garvayo<\/p>\n

Winner of the 2013 National Music Award, the Arb\u00f3s Trio was founded in Madrid in 1996, under the name of the famous Spanish conductor, violinist and composer Enrique Fern\u00e1ndez Arb\u00f3s (1863-1939). Today it is one of the most prestigious chamber groups on the European music scene.<\/p>\n

An extensive and varied discography of more than 30 albums bears witness to the bold and innovative nature of a group that has made a decisive contribution to the recovery of Spanish and Latin American musical heritage (Pedrell, Turina, Granados, de Falla, Malats, Gombau, Bautista, Remacha, Bacarisse, Nin-Culmell, Suri\u00f1ach, etc.); to contemporary musical creation (monographs dedicated to Torres, de Pablo, Erkoreka, Sierra, etc.) or to the dialogue with genres as diverse as flamenco ( Traves\u00edas with Rafael de Utrera), jazz (Kapustin, Play it again ), zarzuela or boleros (in collaboration with Sandra Carrasco). Not in vain, the prestigious London magazine Gramophone has defined the Arb\u00f3s Trio as \u201cone of the most complete and future-oriented chamber groups of today\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Arb\u00f3s Trio performs regularly at major international venues and festivals: the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Tchakovsky Conservatory in Moscow, the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, the Teatro Col\u00f3n in Buenos Aires, the National Auditorium in Madrid, the Wittener Tage f\u00fcr neue Kammermusik , the Kuhmo Festival, the Venice Biennale, the Spoleto Festival, the MUSICA Festival in Strasbourg, the Berlin Philharmonie, the Klangspuren Festival, ULTIMA in Oslo, Time of Music in Viitasaari , the Casals Festival in Puerto Rico, the Dutch Flamenco Biennial, the Transart Festival in Bolzano, the Donostiarra Musical Fortnight, the Granada Music and Dance Festival, the Seville Flamenco Biennial, etc.<\/p>\n

Since its foundation, one of the main objectives of the Arb\u00f3s Trio has been to contribute to the enrichment of classical trio literature through the commissioning of new works. Composers such as Georges Aperghis, Ivan Fedele, Toshio Hosokawa, Mauricio Sotelo, Bernhard Gander, Thierry P\u00e9cou, Elena Mendoza, Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda S\u00e1nchez Verd\u00fa and Mar\u00eda de Alvear, among more than a hundred, have written works for this ensemble.<\/p>\n

Their innovative projects are regularly sponsored by prestigious institutions such as the Ernst von Siemens Musikstiftung and the BBVA Foundation . They currently record exclusively for their own label, Sacratif . Their latest work, which includes harpsichord and piano versions of Manuel de Falla's Concerto , has been hailed by international critics as one of the best recordings of this masterpiece of Spanish literature.<\/p>\n
